carom billiards

Game that is played on a pocketless table with three balls (one red and two white); players hit their own white balls to hit the other balls.

cue ball

White ball that the player hits with the cue to hit the red ball and the opponent’s ball; it is the only ball that may be hit with the cue.

white object ball

Ball the player must hit to score a carom (move in which the player’s ball hits the two other balls); it is also the opponent’s cue ball.

red ball

Ball the player must touch to score a carom.
